10.15 Cleaning the Burner and Primary Heat Exchanger (Flue/Gas
Side)
The burner and primary heat exchanger must be checked every year and cleaned if required.
To corre
ctly clean the burner and the flue gas side of the heat exchanger follow the steps below:

WARNING!
Before proceeding to the next step, verify that the electrical supply to the heater, and any
other electrical supply near the heater, is off. Verify that the manual gas shut off valve is
closed.
1.
Follow the steps in Section 10.14 to gain access to the internal components.
2.
Prepare a suitable cover for the burner so that no dirt, water, or other foreign objects can fall
into the burner unit from above.
3.
Disconnect the two wires “D” (Figure 6-2) from the ignition electrodes and the wire “E”
(Figure 10-3)
from the flame detection electrode.
4.
Loosen screws “F” (Figure 10-2) and move up the spark generator “A”.
