3.10.2 Transporting an AMR Water Heater
For an AM water heater with the rapid recovery option, the buffer tank is shipped separately
from the main unit and must be assembled after main unit installation. The buffer tank should
only be assembled to the unit
after
the water heater has been transported, located, positioned
and
installed in its
final operating position
. Transport the main unit (without buffer tank
installed) as described below:
Transporting an AMR Water Heater
1.
Remove the two (2) 3/8-16 hex cap screws, washers, and nuts attaching the front of the
assembly skid to the pallet (Figure 3-8).

Remove the two (2) 3/8-16 hex cap screws, washers, and nuts attaching the rear of the
assembly skid to the pallet (Figure 3-8.

Once the assembly is disconnected from the pallet, the unit may be transported using a fork
lift inserted into the skid, front or rear, or at the sides, as indicated in Figure 3-8.

CAUTION!
DO NOT use the lifting lugs on the AM unit to lift the entire AMR assembly
. They are to
be used ONLY in the maintenance or replacement of the AM Series unit.
WARNING!
•
Do not transport the AMR unit while the buffer tank is installed, or damage to equipment
or property, or injury to persons might occur.
•
The floor onto which the unit is installed must be capable of supporting the weight of the
unit or the unit and/or building may be damaged.
