The extra log can move unexpectedly and cause

Use a peavey or other tool to reposition logs in the
splitting chamber.

Keep your fingers and hands away from cracks in
the log that can open or close while splitting.

Handle logs using a peavey for positioning.

Always handle split wood by holding onto the sides,

Do not load the splitting cradle while the wedge is

2.11 Transport Safety
1.
Comply with Provincial / state and local laws
governing safety and transporting of machinery on
public roads.

Do not exceed a safe travel speed. Slow down for
rough terrain and cornering.
3.
Fold up and secure the in-feed and splitter chute
and before moving or transporting.
4.
Ensure all latch handles are secure.
5.
Ensure the stability jacks are in the up position and
secured with the latch pin.
6.
Inspect all access panels and guards to ensure
they are secured.
7.
Clean off all debris from the machine.
8.
Check that all the lights, reflectors and other
lighting requirements are installed and in good
working condition.
9.
Never allow riders on the machine.
10.
Be a safe and courteous driver. Always yield to
oncoming traffic in all situations, including narrow
bridges, intersections, and so on.
11.
Watch for traffic when near or crossing roadways.
12.
Do not drink and drive.
13.
Just before transport, perform a circle check to
ensure everything is safe.
14.
Do not exceed a safe travel speed when
transporting.
