3.8 Starting the Generator
Prerequisites
„
Machine on a flat, horizontal surface
„
Wheels of trailer chocked
Procedure Follow the procedure below to start the generator.
1. Disconnect all loads from the generator.
2. Place the battery cut-off switch
(n) in the ON position.
3. Place the fuel valves (o) in the appropriate OPEN position.
4. Place the control switch in the MANUAL START position.
5. Turn the ENGINE PROTECTION switch to the ON position (1).
6. Press the START push button. Release the START push button when the
engine starts.
NOTICE: Do not hold the START push button depressed for more than 20 sec-
onds. Damage to the starter may occur. Allow 30 second of cooling time between
starting attempts.
