Graph of step-change response (KPU and KPD)
Fig. 6: Graph of step-change response to a change in setpoint
NOTICE
Set KPU before setting KPD. KPU influences the setting of KPD.
Even if the closing and opening intervals appear sufficient on the actuator,
KPU and KPD ought still to be adjusted according to the procedure described
above.
Advantage: Improved small signal behavior and less variation between
setpoint and actual value remote indication.
Potentiometers KPU and KPD need to be re-adjusted if the new boundary
conditions, such as nominal pressure, nominal stroke and operating
temperature, differ considerably from those indicated in the test report.
The proportional gain is increased by turning the potentiometer clockwise.
Additionally required equipment and/or measuring instruments
Setpoint transmitter:
0...20 mA, resolution 0.01 mA, accuracy 0.1 %, to be connected between terminal
4 and terminal 6 (see Chapter 10).
Ammeter:
0...20 mA for actual value indication, to be connected between terminal 5 and
terminal 7 (see Chapter 10).
Oscilloscope:
Actual value indication signal (+XA), to be connected between terminal 5 (100
Ohm resistance) and terminal 7 (GND). An oscilloscope can then be connected in
parallel to the resistance - 20 mA correspond to 2 volts.
