Line Voltage Limiter Adjustment
The LINE VOLTAGE LIMITER adjustment is factory preset for maximum output. To limit the output voltage adjust
the controller using the procedure below.
1. Connect a voltmeter to any two of the output terminals of the controller, (T1, T2, T3).
2. Turn power on and wait at least one minute to allow the soft start circuit to bring the output up to line voltage.
3. To lower the output voltage of the controller, rotate the LINE VOLTAGE LIMITER adjustment toward 0 (CCW).
Continue to rotate the adjustment until the measured voltage output of the controller matches the motor nameplate
voltage, The Line Voltage Limiter must not be adjusted below the motor nameplate voltage.
NOTE: The Line Voltage Limiter adjustment can reduce the motor terminal voltage to a level not less than the value of
voltage determined by the START TORQUE adjustment. If unable to lower the output voltage, reduce the START
TORQUE until an acceptable output is obtained.
Dual Ramp and Energy Saving Controls
The soft starter has provisions for dual ramp soft starting, however, this feature is not used on a Tube-Ice machine. The
soft starter also has a energy saving power factor correction feature which is not employed on the Tube-Ice machine.
Energy savings can only be obtained when a motor is running at less than 50% of it’s full load amps. The power factor
correction adjustment should be set for maximum output.
Wiring
The soft starter should be wired in series between the compressor motor contactor and the compressor. A jumper should
be installed between the controller terminals marked “RAMP 1” and “COMMON”.
