7. Reworking the ground/milled restoration
Restorations without sinter support: After completing the milling or grinding process,
bridge restorations without sinter support as well as single crowns, are detached with
a diamond burr milling cutter or a cross-cut tungsten carbide bur. Thickly milled margins
must be reduced carefully. Fissures can be adjusted using a thin pointed tool.
Bridge restorations may not be separated using a diamond separating disc, since this
may result in predetermined breaking points on the connectors. Restorations with sinter
support: Bridges with eight or more units are not separated from the sintering frame
or sintering tongue before the sintering process. All milling fibers must be removed
before sintering.
During wet processing for restorations from VITA YZ T and VITA YZ HT (wet grinding),
a cleaning firing should be carried out before sintering.

8. Characterizing frameworks and restorations
There are two options for characterizing VITA YZ SOLUTIONS: the brushing technique
and the dipping technique.
Characterized frameworks must be dry before sintering. An infrared lamp (250 watts)
or the corresponding pre-dry program in the VITA ZYRCOMAT 6000 MS can be used
for drying.
For more information, refer to Instruction manual no. 10116 or www.vita-zahnfabrik.

9. Sintering in high-temperature furnaces
VITA YZ materials can be sintered in all high-temperature furnaces, which can be operated
with the sintering parameters indicated above. The corresponding information of the
furnace manufacturer must be observed. VITA does not grant a warranty or accept any
liability for damage resulting from processing VITA YZ SOLUTIONS materials in furnaces
from other manufacturers.
Storage during the sintering process: In order to ensure linear shrinkage during the
sintering process and to ensure a high accuracy of fit for the VITA YZ materials, the
restoration must be kept under optimal storage conditions. For storage on a bed of
sintering balls, place anterior crowns and bridges on the labial or lingual surfaces, and
place posterior crowns or bridges on the occlusal surface. Restorations with sinter
support are placed centrically on a smooth, flat surface, either on an appropriate sinter
support or directly on the VITA ZYRCOMAT 6000 MS firing base.
When using liquids, any contamination of the sintering chamber should be avoided.
Cover the sintered objects for this purpose. Restorations made of VITA YZ T and VITA
YZ HT can also be sintered in the high-speed mode. For further information, please refer
to the VITA YZ SOLUTIONS Working Instructions.

10. Reworking
The surface structure of ceramic materials is important for their load capacity. That is
why reworking the sintered framework should generally be avoided.
However, if any reworking is required apart from grinding the holding pieces, the following
basic factors need to be observed:
• Corrections need to be made with diamond instruments for wet grinding under water
cooling and at a low pressure.
• Only fine grain diamonds in mint condition with red color coding (fine 27 – 76 μm)
or lower (extra-fine, yellow 10 – 36 μm or ultrafine, white 4 – 14 μm) should be used
• When reworking, the minimum wall thicknesses and connector cross-sections should
be observed, and notches and sharp edges should be avoided.
• Any reworking, especially near the bridge connectors, must be strictly avoided.
For further information, please refer to the VITA YZ SOLUTIONS Working Instructions.
11. Processing options
• Polishing:
VITA SUPRINITY Polishing Set
• Staining technique: VITA AKZENT Plus Stains for characterizing the shade and
glazing of fully anatomical VITA YZ restorations.
• Veneering:
VITA VM 9 for individualizing reduced crowns and bridges.
• Press-over technique: VITA PM 9 for pressing onto crown and bridge substructures.
For further information on the application and on the corresponding firing temperatures,
please refer to the respective working instructions of the material.
12. Bonding
VITA YZ SOLUTIONS can be luted with conventional, self-adhesive or adhesive methods.
For more information on bonding, please refer to the manufacturer's information of
the bonding material.
Adhesive bonding is required for inlays, onlays and veneers.
Note: Dental treatment and the integration of dental restorations entail the general risk
of iatrogenic damage to hard tooth substance, pulp and/or oral soft tissue. The use of
bonding systems and the integration of dental restorations involve the general risk of
postoperative hypersensitivity.
In the event of non-compliance with the processing instructions of the products in use,
the product characteristics can not be ensured so that product failure and irreversible
damage to the natural hard tooth substance, pulp and/or oral soft tissue may result.
13. Clinical risks
Other, less likely, but later possible complications and risks in dental treatment are well
known and are not associated with VITA materials. Patients should be informed by the
dentist of the risk of later possible problems, such as fracture, chipping, debonding,
occlusal roughness, crevices, over-contouring, marginal discrepancy (marginal gap),
secondary caries, infection or other endodontic or periodontal problems.
14. General information
Occupational and health safety: When working with the product, wear suitable safety
goggles/face protection and light respiratory protection.
15. Storage
VITA YZ materials should be stored in a dry and dark place and not exposed to direct
sunlight.
