*) VITA YZ XT is limited to maximum of three units.
**) In Canada VITA YZ ST is limited to bridges with six units.
Please note:
When designing the framework, pay attention to anatomically reduced tooth shapes.
The cusp should be supported according to the anatomical progression. When preparing
a ceramic veneer, a uniform layer thickness across the entire surface to be veneered
must be ensured. The entire thickness of the ceramic layer, however, should not exceed
2 mm (the optimal layer thickness ranges from 0.7 to 1.2 mm).
When designing fully anatomical restorations, the minimum wall thicknesses for the
respective material must be observed. The aim is to obtain a uniform material thickness.
Clinical success cannot be reliably assured in the event that compliance with the given
design guidelines and minimum wall thickness is not met.
4.
CAD process
For seven units or more, a sinter support for the milled restoration should be designed
for bridge frameworks from VITA YZ T / HT / ST. If no sinter support is attached to these
bridge structures, it is possible for distortion to occur as a result of the sintering process,
which may in turn lead to an imprecise fit in the finished restoration.
The instructions on the design of the sintering support from the individual software
manufacturers are to be observed.
However, if this sinter support consists only of a leftover piece of the disc (sintering
tongue), the volume should be reduced to ensure even heating during the sintering
process.
5.
Enlargement factor
All VITA YZ materials are porous before sintering. Sintering acts as a kind of "compression
process," which results in the materials shrinking by approximately 20%. As a result, all
restorations must be milled according to the specified enlargement factor to compensate
for the shrinkage of the material during the sintering process. The corresponding blank
imprint must be entered into the respective CAM software (as plain text on the disc or
as a barcode on the block). Some software requires the factor (e.g., enlargement factor
1.2345) for the discs or the corresponding X, Y values (e.g., VGF: X, Y = 23.45) and for
some providers, also the Z values (e.g., Z = 23.01). For blocks, the corresponding barcode
is scanned into the CAM software.
6. Milling the restorations
VITA YZ processing must be performed with a validated CAD/CAM system. For information
on the processing parameters, see
