5.7.3 Check the heating operation
1. Check the exhaust gas temperature.

The exhaust gas temperature should rise to 130°C to 150°C within a few minutes
after pre-heating and should lie between 160°C and 200°C in long-term operation.

If the exhaust gas temperature should drop again prematurely during the
combustion process, then a hollow-burn has occurred.
The causes of a hollow-burn can be poor filling or irregular pieces of wood.
2. If a hollow-burn occurs:
Open ash pan doors and spread the wood over the whole ember bed with a poker.
