Appendix B

Installation Wizard

The information in this appendix is intended to explain how to use the Installation Wizard that is on the CD

provided with the camera. This utility is similar to VNSetup on Vicon cameras. Vicon recommends that this

utility be used only as a tool to find an unknown IP address for a camera and to upgrade the firmware.

For example, if your camera network is an active DHCP server, the camera will be assigned a DHCP ad-

dress not known to you. Once the IP address is found, it is recommended to use that address to configure

the camera in the browser as described in this manual.

The Wizard is designed with a user-friendly interface. When the wizard is opened, the interface will display a

list of cameras connected to the system.

1. Run the "Installation Wizard 2" under the Software Utility directory from the CD.

2. The program will conduct analysis on your network environment. After your network is analyzed,

click on the "Next" button to continue the program.

3. The program will search the Network cameras on the same LAN.

4. After searching, the main installer window will pop up. Click on the MAC that matches the one

from the product label of your device to connect the Internet Explorer to the Network camera.

Clicking on the expander arrows reveals four other buttons, Access Information, Firmware Upgrade,

Restore Defaults and the About information. Before working any of these screens, be sure to

shutdown ViconNet or it will automatically shutdown.
