Security
This screen is used to create and setup users for the camera.
The camera is shipped without a password by default. Therefore, anyone can access the camera,
including the configuration screens, as long as the IP address is known. If it is required that the
camera only be accessed by authorized personnel, it is suggested to assign a password.
“Root password”-
The Administrator’s account name is “root.” A root password is required before any users
can be created or added. Type in the new password identically in both text boxes. The typed entries are dis-
played as asterisks for security purposes. Click
to enable password protection; a window displays for
authentication. Type the correct user’s name and password in their respective fields to access the camera.
The web browser will always ask the Administrator for the password for access upon login.
Once the pass-
word is set, there is no provision to recover the Administrator’s password. The only option is to re-
store to the original factory default settings.
“Manage Privilege”
(Advanced Mode) – The privileges of Operators and Viewers can be modified for PTZ
control and Digital Output. Check or uncheck the item and then click
. If “
Allow anonymous view-
ing
” is checked, any client can access the live stream without entering a user ID and password.
“Manage User”-
Use this to add, delete or edit user information. Administrators can add a maximum
of twenty user accounts. Type the new user's name and password and select the privilege level for
the new user. There are three types of user privilege: Administrator, Operator and Viewer. The
Administrator can fully control the camera operation,
system configuration, user administration, and soft
ware upgrades. Operator’s access rights can modify most camera parameters except some privilege
and network options. Viewers can view camera. Press
to insert the new entry. The new user
will be displayed in the user name list.
Any user of ViconNet must have full Administrator privileges.
Open the user list to select an existing user’s name. Press
to delete the selected user. To
edit the password or privilege of the selected user, press

to have changes
