Warning
Before connecting the cables, make sure that all the external and internal UPS power switches are set to OFF, and post the
appropriate warning signs to prevent inadvertent operation of the switches. Meanwhile, measure the voltages between the UPS
terminals, and the voltages between the terminals and earth.
Warning
1. The earth cables and neutral line must be connected in accordance with local and national codes of practice.
2. Failure to observe this condition may result in electric shock or fire risk.
Power distribution mode
There are two possible configurations for the I/O cables: 3-in 3-out, common input configuration (default), and 3-in
3-out, separate bypass configuration.
Connecting the system input
1. 3-in 3-out, common input configuration (default)
Connect the AC input cables to the main input terminals (mA-mB-mC-iN), and ensure that the three shorting cables
between bypass input terminals (bA-bB-bC) and main input terminals are connected securely. Make sure that the
phase rotation is correct.
The common input configuration shorting cables are fitted before delivery, therefore there is no need to install them
again.
2. 3-in 3-out, separate bypass configuration
Remove all the shorting cables between the bypass input terminals and main input terminals. Connect the main input
cables to the main input terminals (mA-mB-mC) in the cabinet, and connect the bypass input cables to the bypass
input terminals (bA-bB-bC-iN) in the cabinet. Make sure that the phase rotation is correct.
Connecting the system output
Connect the system output cables between the output terminals (oA-oB-oC-oN) in the cabinet and the load. Refer to
Table 3-1 for the tightening torque values. Make sure that the phase rotation is correct.
Warning
Prior to the service engineer's visit, if it is not necessary to connect the load to the power supply, it is important to ensure the
terminals of the output cables are insulated safely
Connecting the batteries
If external batteries are required, ensure correct polarity between the battery string terminals and the BCB, and
between the BCB and the UPS cabinet battery input terminals (BAT+, BAT_N, BAT-) in the UPS cabinet (see Figure
3-1), i.e., (+) to (BAT+), (-) to (BAT-) and (N) to (BAT_N), and disconnect one or more battery cell link on each tier. Do
not reconnect these links and do not close the BCB until authorised to do so by the service engineer.
Note: When connecting the cables between the external battery terminals and BCB, connect the cables to the
BCB terminals first.
If internal batteries are selected, also wear arc protection gloves when connecting the battery input terminals (+ red, N
blue, -black), as shown in Figure 3-3.
Procedures:
1. Open the cabinet front door and remove the central protection cover, as shown in Figure 3-3.
2. Wear arc protection gloves when connecting the battery input terminals (+, N, -) via the plastic cover shown in
Figure 3-3.
3. Check that all the connections are correct, then replace the central protection cover.
