7. Access the main menu screen again, select 'Status' to check that the parameters such as inverter output voltage and
frequency are normal. If they are, the start-up procedure is complete.
8. If the battery is not connected, the alarm indicator will be displayed in yellow. If the battery is connected, the alarm
indicator will be extinguished.
5.2.2
Start-up Procedures In Battery Mode (Battery Cold Start)
1. Check that the batteries are connected securely and correctly
2. Open the front panel of the UPS and press and hold the battery cold start button for 2s (see Figure 5-1 for location).
At this point, the system is energised and the start-up screen is displayed. Refer to
4.2.1 Start-up Screen
.
25 seconds later, the charger performs the self-test and start-up, and the alarm indicator (red) remains on in the steady
state. 30 seconds later the charger start-up phase is complete.
3. Access the flow chart page and press the power button for two seconds so that the dialogue box shown in Figure
5-4 appears on the LCD screen. After selecting 'YES', the inverter performs the self-check and start-up. Once the
inverter is running normally, the UPS will switch to normal operating mode and the run indicator (green) will remain on
in the steady state.
4. Access the main menu screen again, select 'Status' to check that the parameters such as inverter output voltage and
frequency are normal. If they are, the start-up procedure is complete.
5.3
Procedures for Switching Between Operating Modes
Note
The Inverter operating modes include Normal mode and Battery mode.
5.3.1
Switching from Normal Mode to Battery Mode
Open the external power switch or main input switch Q1 to isolate the UPS from the mains power supply and switch to
battery mode. If you wish to transfer the UPS back from Battery mode to Normal mode, close the external power switch
or main input switch QS1, and wait a few seconds for the mains input to recover. After about ten seconds, the rectifier
will restart automatically, and the inverter will resume supplying power to the load.
5.3.2
Switching from Normal Mode to Bypass Mode
Note
In Bypass mode, the load is supplied directly by the mains power instead of the pure AC power from the inverter.
With the UPS In Inverter mode, press and hold the power button. If the bypass is normal, the interface shown in Figure
5-6 will appear. Select 'YES' to switch the UPS to Bypass mode, see Figure 5-7 for the power flow chart.
