Chapter 3
The Video Playback Controller
Introduction
This chapter describes MPEG video playback through the CineCast Quad Pro
decoder using the Microsoft
Windows operating system and the Vela MPEG
Playback Controller application. The application is loaded during the system
software installation process described in Chapter 1 of this manual.
Click on the Playback Controller icon on the Windows desktop to start the
application. Alternatively, go to Start > Programs > Vela Research > CineCast
Playback Controller to open the application.
User Interface
Playback Controller Window
(Figure 3-1) The main user interface of the playback application is the VCR-style
Playback Controller window. From the controller, the user can select an MPEG
file to play.
A selection of setup buttons access various property settings, dynamic and expert
system settings and playback parameters
During the playback process the user can perform operations such as Pause,
Resume, Fast-Forward, and Slow Motion.

for easy identification can be found in Figure 3-23.
