Additional steps are beneficial to determining the best set of visibility settings, but requiring AGC to
search across too wide a range of parameters may result in very long execution times.
AGC has four default levels of complexity; these levels are set at the factory and are not editable in
the field. Level 1 requires the least amount of steps for AGC to complete its search – Level 4
requires the most amount of steps from AGC. Typical AGC calibration starts a Level 1 complexity
and will successfully calibrate about 90% of all test points. Level 2 will typically calibrate 9% of the
remaining points. It is suggested when first calibrating the AGC for a test point set to start at Level 1
complexity and to elevate the complexity for each test point that fails at that level. If none of the four
pre-defined complexity levels calibrate a test point, the AGC interface allows the user to create a
custom search pattern.
After the Calibration Operation has been performed, AU provides feedback indicating which test
points will need further manual adjustments. Return to the Maintenance Dialog and adjust the test
visibility settings for the indicated test points.
2.3.5.2 Calibration of the Convergence relationships
The second item that is calibrated in each of the test point sets is the relationship between a step of
the controlled projector variable (
convergence

keystone

static shift
, etc) and the amount of observable
change in the camera image. For the Convergence test point set, a simple scale factor is established
