If it essential that you have this information if you wish to
integrate a new VDO SmartTerminal into the system in
standalone mode.
status Displays brief information to the terminal connection or to
the current terminal activity.
Connection mode Indicates how the communication between
VDO TerminalService and VDO SmartTerminal is estab-
lished.
Last download Indicates the last time that a file was downloaded from the
VDO SmartTerminal.
Transfer configur-
ation Indicates if after a configuration change, this configuration
was transferred to the VDO SmartTerminal. If the configur-
ation has not yet been transferred, the date of the last
change of the configuration is displayed.
The transfer can occur both via network, USB cable or
USB stick. If the configuration was transferred, the date of
the configuration is displayed. A transfer onto a USB stick
can occur at any time and is thus protocolled. However,
the VDO TerminalTools cannot indicate whether the con-
figuration was entered on the device.
By default, it is activated in the
Options for Upload that
the configuration is automatically sent to the device if it is
permanently connected via network or USB cable.
The menu bar provides the following functions which are available via a popup
menu for the functions

Refresh Reloads all terminals from the data base
New terminal Stores a new terminal in the system
Edit terminal Unlocks the terminal data for a selected terminal for edit-
ing
You can now perform any desired changes on the terminal
and then transfer the configuration via network, USB cable
or manually via USB stick onto the VDO SmartTerminal.
Delete terminal Permanently deletes a selected terminal from the system
If required, you can later reintegrate the terminal as a new
device.
Connection Provides further functions for a selected terminal:
• Download data from terminal
With this command, you manually start a download of
the data from the terminal.
• Download archive data from terminal
With this command, you manually start a download of
all data already downloaded from the terminal. During
the download it is, however, checked if the file was
already downloaded. If this is the case, the download is
skipped. If you wish to repeat the download, you must
first delete it from the downloads;

• Download log data from terminal
With this command, you can download the log files from
