CAUTION! PLEASE OBSERVE!
VAPOURS EVAPORATING FROM SEALANTS CONTAINING
SILICON COMPOUNDS MAY ALTER
THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SENSOR.
The sensor is not recommended to be installed before the sealant has dried (3-5 weeks
from application). If the sealant is used in rooms where sensors are already present, they
have to be protected by e.g. plastic film tightly taped around the sensor cover. The holes
in the bottom and on the side of the black sensor cover must absolutely be blocked. The
protection should not be removed until the sealant has dried completely in 3-5 weeks.
The sensor should always be mounted min. 50cm away from a silicone sealed joint.
PLEASE NOTE!
1. The sensor casing has ready made holes for mounting in the ceiling, if required.
Additional holes are to be avoided.
2. The sensor cover must always point down.
3. The sensor element will be destroyed by contact with liquid.
4. The reading of the sensor will be distorted by Hydrogen from battery charging,
exhaust fumes etc.
5. The 90

bracket must be used when mounting on wall.
6. Cable: depending on the distance from the PROBA unit 3x 0,5mm

or 3x 0,8mm

cable should be used and absolutely not normal 230Vac power cable. If shielded
cable is used the shield should always be earthed in the PROBA unit only. If there are
more than 3 wires in the cable, the extra wires must be properly insulated.
FUNCTION LED ON PGS 1500
Initial behaviour when PGS 1500 is connected:
- green LED on continuously (approx. 60 seconds)
- green LED starts flashing (normal operation)
When smelling gas:
- yellow LED on continuously (approx. 8-16mA)
- red LED on continuously (over 16mA)
