8.3 Water Connection
The VC999 85.47i Shrink Tank can be fed with cold or
warm water.
NOTICE
With hard water it is desirable to install a water softener
in the water supply line. This reduces lime deposits and
minimises cleaning.
For the water-pressure a manometer and a regulating
tap should be provided on site.
To clean the filter (38) the Shrink Tank must be
disconnected from the water supply by means of a
stopcock.
Clean the filter 1 day after first start-up according to
Section 13.1.2.
Water connection from above: Connect by flexible
hose to item 35, threaded joint R½“.

Water connection from below:
•
Take down back panel on right.
•
Remove cover cap (36), screw on to upper
connection (35) and tighten.
•
Connect by flexible hose to bend (37).
•
Replace back panel.
NOTICE
When installing take care that no impurities get into
the supply line and that the water unit is not twisted
when tightening.
8.4 Steam Connection
Only for versions with steam heating:
NOTICE
A manometer (setting 6 bar max) and a safety value
set for 8 bar must be provided on site. To clean the
filter (40) it must be possible to isolate the shrink tank
from the steam supply with a steam valve.
WARNING
Risk of scalding from the discharge of hot steam!
Steam connection from above:
•
Connect steam supply to tube (39) (R½“).
Steam connection from below:
•
Take down back panel on right.
•
Remove tube (39).
•
Mount plug (41) on opposite side as seal.
•
Connect steam supply to bottom of T-piece (42)
(R½“).
•
Replace panel.

8.5 Installing Steam Exhaust Pipe
The joint opening for the steam exhaust tube is
arranged for an outside tube diameter of 160 mm (Fig.
1, item) (of chapter 4 in Technical Data).
Take care when installing the steam drain line that too
much condensate cannot run back into the Shrink
Tank (provide siphon with drain opening).
