Waveform Control
The LW250 Laser generates a waveform (pulse shape), as shown in Figure 6-2, by combining
the flash lamp pulse duration (FLASH1, FLASH2, FLASH3), interval time (COOL1, COOL2)
and the voltages (VOLTA, VOLTB). The voltage can be set to either VOLT A or VOLT B.
You set the pulse duration of the flash lamp as follows:
0.3 msec
FLASH3
20 msec

If VOLT A and VOLT B are set to the
same amplitude, SW-A and SW-B are
closed simultaneously regardless of the
absolute amplitude of VOLT A and VOLT
B. Thus, if a single laser beam shot is
emitted (with no waveform control) when
VOLT A and VOLT B have the same
amplitude, the total capacitance is double
(Laser Bank A + Laser Bank B) the
capacitance obtained when VOLT A and
VOLT B are not equal. Thus, a larger laser
output is obtained (see Figure 6-4).
