b. Remove cartridge.
c. Remove ring pin and manually test system by oper-
ating the remote manual pull station or push
“STRIKE” button on ANSUL AUTOMAN II-C release.
d. After operating manually, check that all functions
have been accomplished.
e. Cock ANSUL AUTOMAN II-C release mechanism
using cocking lever, Part No. 26310, and install ring
pin.
f. Remove gasket from cartridge receiver in ANSUL
AUTOMAN II-C release mechanism. Check gasket
for elasticity or cuts and replace if necessary. Clean
and coat gasket lightly with a good grade of extreme
temperature grease such as Dow Corning No. 4.
Reinstall gasket into cartridge receiver. Do not install
cartridge at this time.
g. Make certain the release mechanism is cocked and
ring pin is removed.
h. Test each thermal detector by using an approved
heat lamp. Test each detector individually and re-
cock release mechanism after each test.
NOTICE
If system does not fire, check the
integrity of the solenoid by using an
ohmmeter and measure the resistance
of the solenoid coil. If it is not within the
resistance range, replace solenoid.
There are two different solenoids used
in the ANSUL AUTOMAN II-C release
and their resistance is as follows:

i. With release mechanism cocked, install ring pin.
See Figure 2.
j. Before installing cartridge, reset all additional equip-
ment by referring to the Resetting and Recharge
section in this manual.
k. Remove shipping cap and weigh each nitrogen
cartridge.
l. Replace cartridge if weight is 1/4 ounce (7.1 g), or
more, below weight stamped on models LT-10-R.
Replace cartridge if weight is 1/2 ounce (14.2 g), or
more, below weight stamped on models LT-30-R.
NOTICE
If cartridge requires replacement, order
the appropriate Shipping Part Number
as found in the Component Section of
this manual
m. Make certain release mechanism is cocked and ring
pin is installed, screw replacement cartridge into
release mechanism and hand tighten.
n. Remove ring pin.
o. Install cover on enclosure, install ring pin through
“STRIKE” button, and secure with visual seal, Part
No. 197.
p. Record annual maintenance date on tag attached to
unit and/or in a permanent file.
20.
Electric Detection/AUTOPULSE Control System
Perform system annual maintenance by following the
instructions listed in the appropriate AUTOPULSE
Control System Installation, Operation, and Mainten-
ance Manual.
21. To test the regulator setting, use the following proce-
dures and refer to Figure 3:
a. Check tamper seal on regulator to verify it is intact.
b Retrieve the proper regulator setting pressure as
determined in the system design section.
c. Disconnect all cylinders from the high pressure
manifold.
d. Disconnect the manifold at the union that separates
the unused section of the supply manifold and cap
the connection on the section that is used.
e. Connect one nitrogen cylinder for each installed
atomizer to the manifold section that is attached to
the regulator. With test cylinders securely mounted
in brackets, attach female end of flexible discharge
bend onto test cylinder valve outlet. Wrench tighten.
f. Close the ball valve in the nitrogen pressurization
line to the water tank.
g. Ensure that the ball valve in the main nitrogen line to
the atomizers is open.
Maintenance
CAUTION
!
Remove the electric valve actuator from the cylinder
valve prior to testing the AUTOPULSE Control
System. Failure to do so will cause accidental
system discharge.
