7. Pivot the wire funnel to the vertical position.
8. Replace the front guard, and lower the tape release lever.
9. Refer to instructions packaged with dies for any specific die installation and crimping information that
may be applicable.
10. Refer to Section 7 for adjustment procedures before operating the machine under power.
8.2. Wire Funnel Replacement
(Figure 23)
Wire Funnel Assembly, Part No. 68299–1, must be installed on the machine when running 22 to 14 AWG wire
sizes, and Wire Funnel Assembly, Part No. 68306–1, is required when running 12 and 10 AWG wire sizes to
run terminals and butt splices. When converting the machine to run closed–end splices, the wire funnel is
replaced with an extractor, as described in Paragraph 8.3. Replace the wire funnel as follows:
To avoid personal injury, turn off" the machine and disconnect the machine from the power supplies.
1. Remove the front guard to gain access, if it is not already removed.
2. If a product is not in the crimping area, hand–cycle the machine, as described in Section 4, to
advance a product and lower the moving die.
