For every audio source, the SAM-Q-SDI assigns a fixed Engineering name (see Items 1 and 2 above) which
cannot be edited by the user.
Each fixed name contains information about the physical input (i.e. BNC1, BNC 2, AES or Analog), the
signal type (i.e. SDI or MADI) and the unique channel identifier belonging to the source.

Immediately underneath this, any corresponding Friendly names are displayed.
For information on how to create and edit the friendly names of audio sources, please see page 54.
TSL recommends that you take time to create friendly names for each audio source as doing so can make
the assignments of audio sources to Source Select buttons both quicker and easier.
Similarly, the addition of friendly names helps all users of the SAM-Q-SDI when using Operational Modes,
most notably the Names mode (see below)
