Calibrating the edge fi nder compensates for deviations of the
measuring system.
In order to obtain the most accurate probing results, the ca-
libration feed should also correspond to the later measuring
feed. You will fi nd our recommended measuring feed on page
31 (performance data).
- Before the fi rst use of the system.
- If the edge fi nder was exposed to strong
mechanical loads.
- If positioning accuracy cannot be gua-
ranteed by automatic tool changes.
- If the edge fi nder is put into another
tool holder.
In principle, the edge fi nder should be calibrated at regular
intervals in order to recognize error sources on the machine
side at an early stage and to compensate them if necessary.
