XII. Scan Functions, continued
Weather (WX) Scan, continued
If transmit activity is detected on the channel / tone
code settings for your radio;
a) The radio will stop scanning and lock on to the
channel.
b) The radio will pause for 3 seconds to allow you
to transmit a response on the standard TX / RX
frequencies.
If transmit activity is detected on one of the weather
frequencies and the Warning Alarm Tone (WAT) is
detected:
a) The radio will stop scanning and lock on to the
WX (weather) channel.
b) The radio will remain on the weather frequency
until the user manually switches the radio back
to normal operation by pressing the WX / SCAN
button.
Nuisance Delete
During the scan mode, there are often channels that
are consistently occupied by other parties. Should
your radio lock on a "busy channel" that you do not
desire to scan, press the MONITOR button to remove
an active channel from the channel scan list. This helps
prevent unwanted chatter during scan functions. The
nuisance delete setting will remain active until radio
is turned off and back on.
