XVII. VOX (Voice Operated Transmission)

The MURS-25 provides a VOX (voice operated

transmit) mode which allows the radio to transmit from

your voice - without having to press the P-T-T button.

The VOX mode has an on / off control as well as 3

sensitivity level settings.

Turn the VOX operation on or off and set the VOX

sensitivity by using these steps:

1. With the radio powered on, press the MODE button

eight times or until you see the VOX indicator

flashing and the current VOX setting.

VOX On / Off Selection

2. Press the UP (

) / DOWN (

) buttons to alternate

between on and off.

3. If turning VOX on, press the MODE button to

advance to the VOX sensitivity setting mode.

4. Press the UP (

) / DOWN (

) buttons to adjust the

VOX sensitivity, choosing between Level 1

(L 1), Level 2 (L 2) or Level 3 (L 3). Level 1

is the most sensitive to sound; Level 3 is the

least sensitive to sound.
