XIX.  Weather Alert

The MURS-25 provides a weather alert function which

allows the radio to monitor weather frequencies for the

NOAA Warning Alarm Tone (WAT). The frequency of

the WAT is 1050 Hz.

With the weather alert function on and while in normal

operation, the radio will sound the Warning Alarm

Tone issued by the NOAA. The radio will also switch

to the weather frequency mode for the voice portion

of the weather alert. Press the WX / SCAN button to

switch back to normal operation.
