2.1  Removing the Belt clip

Pull the belt clip latch away from the PMR. While
pulling up the belt clip latch, push up the belt clip
as shown in fig.1.

2.2  Installing the Belt clip

Slide the belt clip into the slot as shown in fig.2.
A "click"indicates the belt clip is properly locked into
its position.

2.3  Installing the batteries

With the belt clip removed, slide the battery cover 

making sure they are fitted according to the

The battery low  icon is located in the bottom left corner of the LCD screen.

The PMR has a built-in power saver feature. To make batteries last longer, 
it is suggested that when the PMR is not being used for long periods of time, 

it is better to switch the unit Off to save more battery power. 

a. Press and hold the       (Power) button. A chime tone will be  heard.
The LCD screen will turn on, briefly show ON and then display the

and the LCD screen will briefly show OF, then turn off.

There are 8 volume levels, and the current speaker volume level is  
displayed on the LCD screen. To adjust the speaker volume level;

a. Press the      or      button to increase or decrease the volume

level. The key tone will be heard at the new volume level set and
the volume icon bars on the screen will change.

The unit is continuously in receive mode when it is turned On and not transmitting. 
When a signal is received on the current channel, the receive signal icon "
will be displayed on the LCD screen.

a. Press and hold the 

PTT

 (Push to Talk) button to enter transmit 

mode, and the "

TX

" icon will display on the LCD screen.

b. Hold the unit in a vertical position with the Mic (microphone) 5cm
away from the mouth. While holding the 

PTT

 button, speak into 

the microphone in a normal tone of voice.

c. Release the 

PTT

 button when you want to finish transmitting.

Important:

In order for others to receive your transmission, they must be on

  

 the same channel that you are using.

   

Refer to the “Changing Channel” section for more information.

When the PTT and/or CALL buttons are continuously pressed,

  

 your unit can not receive any transmissions.

3.7  Call Tone

You can use the Call tone to send a tone to other PMR users on the same
channel. To activate this feature; 

  

a. In the standby mode, press and release the  Call        button. The unit
will transmit a 2 seconds page tone to  other units on the same

channel within transmitting range.

Your PMR unit has special circuitry designed to extend the life of your 
battery. When the unit is not used for 4 seconds, it will automatically switch
into a low power mode. The power saving feature does not affect the PMR
ability to receive transmissions. When a signal is detected, it automatically

3.10  To Lock the buttons

With the buttons lock you can still transmit (TX), receive or call the current
channel, but you can not change the volume. To activate this feature;

  

In the standby mode, press and hold  the Menu        button until the lock

Press and hold again the Menu        button until the lock       icon
disappears from the LCD screen.
