Switching off when overloaded
Hoists fitted with mechanical load limiting devices:
The hoist's load limiting device has been set up in the factory to activate with a maximum permitted overload of 125% of the maximum
working load. A warning signal will be sounded or a warning light will come on when it is switched off. With optional radio remote
control: Transmitter sounds if overload is activated.
Jamming of the load lifting equipment may also lead to deactivation.
Overload is generated by a stationary drive during loading:
–
Reduce the load until no overload is present.
Overload is generated when moving upwards, e.g.
by jamming:
–
Lower or release the hoist until the load hangs freely again.
–
Remove the obstacle before lifting the load again.
from loading up to the load limit with greater travelling heights, due to the fact that the own weight of the cable that has to be
carried by the hoist increases with the increasing height.
–
Move the hoist down and reduce the load.
–
Where applicable, readjust the overload, see § 8.5.
