normal).
• Flat-looking tyres or uneven tyre wear.
• The right-most segment of the engine coolant temperature display flashes.
Audible symptoms
• Changes in exhaust sound.
• Excessive tyre squeal when cornering.

• Pinging or other noises related to the engine.
Operational symptoms
• Engine missing, stumbling or running roughly.
• Appreciable loss of power.

• Vehicle pulls heavily to one side when driving on a level road.
• Loss of brake effectiveness, spongy feeling, pedal almost touches the floor.
FUEL PUMP SHUT OFF SYSTEM
The fuel pump shut off system stops supplying fuel to the engine to minimise the risk of
fuel leakage when the engine stalls or an airbag inflates upon collision.
Vehicles with standard type ignition switch–
To restart the engine after the fuel pump shut off system activates, turn the ignition switch
to the ACC or LOCK position and restart the engine.
Vehicles with smart entry and start system–
To restart the engine after the fuel pump shut off system activates, press the ENGINE
START STOP switch to OFF and restart the engine.
CAUTION
Inspect the ground under the vehicle before restarting the engine. If you find that fuel
has leaked onto the ground, the fuel system has been damaged and is in need of repair.
In this case, do not restart the engine.
