3.20 Floppy Disk Drive Utilities

3.20.1 Function Description

This function formats a floppy disk, copies a floppy disk, and displays the dump list for both a
floppy disk and the HDD.

FORMAT

CAUTION: This option is only for testing the floppy disk drive. The option is different than
the MS-DOS FORMAT command.

This program can format a 5.25- or 3.5-inch floppy disk in the following formats:

(1)

2D: Double-sided, double-density, 48/67.5 TPI, MFM mode, 512 bytes, 9 sectors/
track.

(2)

2DD: Double-sided, double-density, double-track, 96/135 TPI, MFM mode, 512
bytes, 9 sectors/track.

(3)

2HD: Double-sided, high-density, double-track, 96/135 TPI, MFM mode, 512 bytes,
18 sectors/track.

COPY

This option copies a source floppy disk to a target floppy disk.

DUMP

This option displays the contents of the floppy disk and the designated sectors of the hard
disk on the display.

3.20.2 Operations

Select the Floppy Disk Drive Utilities function by typing 7 from the DIAGNOSTICS MENU
and pressing
