About
The
About
setting enables you to view technical
information about your Toshiba phone, including the
operating system and memory of the phone. This
information is useful when installing new
applications on your Toshiba phone.
You can also change the name of your Toshiba
phone as it is displayed to other devices (for
example, when using Bluetooth).
Viewing phone information
To view the phone information:
1. From the
Today
screen, tap
Start
>
Settings
.
2. Tap the
System
tab.
3. Tap
About
. The phone information is displayed
on the
Version
tab.
4. Tap
ok
when you have finished.
Changing device name
To change the device name:
1. From the
Today
screen, tap
Start
>
Settings
.
2. Tap the
System
tab.
3. Tap
About
.
4. Tap the
Device ID
tab.
5. Enter a new name for your Toshiba phone in the
Device name:
field. You can also add a
description if required.
6. Tap
ok
.
NOTE:
The device name should start with a
letter and contain only a combination of the
letters A to Z, numbers 0 to 9, and underscore
and hyphen characters.
NOTE:
The device name
is used to identify
your Toshiba phone in the following
situations:
• Synchronising with PC.
• Connecting to a network.
• Restoring information from a back up.
• Bluetooth pairing.
• Data exchange via beaming.
