Chapter 8 Startup Using nV-Tool

8.2.5 Preparing Remote I/O Modules

Prepares the FL654A for downloading I/O configuration information to it.

(1) Preparation for download

(a) Set the FL654A operation setting switch so that SW3 is ON and SW4 is OFF

(TOOL designation).

(b) Turn ON the power.

8.2.6 Setting the Transmission Parameters

Set up the transmission parameters for communications between the nV-Tool and FL654A.

(1) Click on the “Tool” menu in the System View/Station Status screen to display the menu.

(2) In this menu, click on the “Set Transmission Parameters” item. The Set Transmission

Parameters screen appears.

(3) Always select the “Network via RS-232C” radio button in the Transmission Means section.

(4) If download is made in remote connection, set the timeout time for transmission over RS-232C

to 10 sec or more.
