Getting Started

Using the computer for the first time

48

Register Online — Enables you to register your
computer with Toshiba online. To register your computer
at a later time, select No, I do not want to register at
this time. You can click on the registration icon on your
desktop or complete and mail the registration card that
came with your computer.

Registering your computer lets Toshiba keep you up-to-
date with information about new products and
upgrades, and also extends your Toshiba warranty
worldwide at no charge to you.

NOTE: To perform online operations, your computer’s
modem must be connected to a voice-grade telephone line,
or you must be connected to a local area network.

Warranty Extensions and Upgrades — Provides
important information from Microsoft.

Internet Access — Guides you through signing up for a
new Internet account with AT&T WorldNet

®

Service, or

assists you in setting up your computer to work with
your existing Internet account. If you choose to sign up
for Internet access with AT&T WorldNet, you will not be
charged for the call.

Toshiba and Yahoo!

®

have joined together to offer

you a free account on Yahoo!. In order to sign up for
Yahoo!, you must have an Internet access account.

Completing installation
