Changing the Engine Oil
Service Interval:
Every 250 hours
1.
Park the machine on a level surface, stop the engine,
and remove the ignition key.
WARNING
Allow the engine and oil to cool before
draining the oil. Hot oil may cause serious
injury.
2.
Ensure that the drain hose (
) is carefully
pulled up and the end of the hose is placed in a drain
pan.

Open the drain valve (

Drain the oil into the drain pan.
5.
When the oil stops, close the drain valve (

Place the drain hose back into the original position
(
7.
Change the engine oil filter; refer to
Engine-oil Filter (page 88)
.
8.
Remove the oil-fill cap from the filler neck by pulling
the cap upward.

Note:
Use a funnel with a flexible, attached hose to
direct the engine oil into the engine.
9.
Fill the crankcase with approximately 7.5 L (7.9 US
qt) of the specified engine oil; refer to
Engine Oil and Filter (page 87)
.
10.
Install the oil-fill cap.
11.
Start the engine, run it at idle for about 2 minutes, and
check for oil leaks.
12.
Stop the engine and remove the key.
13.
Wait for 2 or 3 minutes and check the oil level; refer to
Checking the Engine-oil Level (page 88)
.
Adjusting the Valve Clearance
Service Interval:
After the first 250 hours
Every 2,000 hours
Refer to the engine owner’s manual, which is included with
the machine, for the adjustment procedure.
If you cannot adjust the valve clearance, contact your
Authorized Toro Service Dealer.
