Check Procedure 1-- Battery/ voltage check
Note: to pe rform the follo wing check proce dures, the ba ttery sho uld be maintained properly and charge d
fu lly.
Use a DC mu ltimeter set to 200V, connect the black (-) pro be to the negative output binding post of the battery and
co nnect the red (+) probe to the po sitive wire of the battery.
Check Procedure 2--Accelerator signal voltage
P lease refer to Chapter 1 Protection for Electrical Safety.
1.
Use a DC multimeter set to 20V, connect the black (-) pro be to the negative binding post o f the battery and
connect the red (+) probe to Wire 7 (black/white wire). The reading should be arou nd 0V at the original position
o f the pedal. P ress down the accelerato r pedal slowly, observe the reading on the multimeter. When the pedal is
pressed, the reading should be increased by 0 V-5V until the pedal is pressed down completely.
2.
If the reading is not increased while pressing the pedal, the accelerato r should be replaced.
3.
If the reading is lo wer than 4.5V when the pedal is pressed do wn co mpletely, the electric vehicle can no t run at
the rated max speed. Please check whether the accelerator is in good co nditio n.
Check Procedure 3-- Motor voltage at A1 and A2

.
Jack up the rear axle of the electric vehicle so that the rear wheels are in the air.
2.
Check that the battery is wired co rrectly, then co nnect the black (-) probe of a multimeter set at 200V DC to
mo to r terminal A2 and co nnect the red probe (+) to motor terminal A1.
3.
With TOW/RUN switch on position RUN, turn the Switch Fo rward/Reverse to F ORWARD, then press the
accelerator pedal slowly.
4.
While the accelerator pedal is pressed, the voltage reading should be increased from 5V when the accelerator
pedal switch is clo sed to 48 V when the accelerator pedal is pressed down completely.
4.1 If no voltage reading is displayed, check the accelerator.
Refer to “Check Procedure 2

Accelerator voltage”.
4.2 Disconnect the battery cable acco rding to the directions.

4.3 Check the continu ity of motor binding posts A1, A2 and F1, F2. In addition, check all motor wires for
continuity. Refer to “Motor” in Chapter 12.
