3. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
THE NUMBERS IN THE FOLLOWING TEXT COR-
RESPOND WITH THE FIGURES AT PAGE 37.
DESCRIPTION (fig. 1)
Before adjusting the saw, make sure the
tool is disconnected.
ADJUSTING THE RIVING KNIFE (fig. 2)
-
Move the blade guard backwards and lock by
means of knob (1).
-
Use a screwdriver to loosen both screws (2).
-
Adjust the riving knife, referring to the distances
indicated in the drawing.
Retighten both screws (2) and release knob (1).
-
Check that the riving knife is exactly behind the
blade.
ADJUSTING THE CUTTING ANGLE (fig. 3)
-
Loosen both knobs (1).
-
Move the shoe (2) into the proper position (0°-
45°). The cutting angle is indicated by the pointer
(3).
ADJUSTING THE DEPTH OF CUT (fig. 4)
-
Loosen knob (1).
-
Move the shoe (2) downwards.
-
The depth of cut can be checked (3).
-
After adjustment retighten knob (1).
MOUNTING THE PARALLEL GUIDE (fig. 5)
-
Loosen knob (1).
-
Insert the guide into the relevant recesses (2).
-
Set the required width and retighten knob (1).
REPLACING OR CLEANING THE BLADE
(fig. 6)
Before adjusting the saw, make sure the
tool is disconnected.
-
Move the blade guard backwards and lock by
means of knob (1).
-
Lock-up the shaft with the spindle lock.
-
Use an hexagonal key (2) to loosen the left-hand
bolt in the centre of the blade.
-
Remove the blade and clean or replace.
-
Put the blade back in its proper position, making
sure the teeth of the blade point in the same direc-
tion as those of the riving knife (4).
Fit the locking ring (5) and retighten the left-hand
bolt.
After fitting a new blade it may be necessa-
ry to readjust the riving knife.

Release knob (1) to put the guard back in place.
REPLACING THE CARBON BRUSHES (fig. 7):
Frequent use will cause the carbon brus-
hes to wear down. Regular inspection, after
every 100 hours of use, is essential. If the
brushes have worn down to less than 4mm,
replace.

Remove both screws (1).
-
Take the brushes (2) out and check.
-
Reinsert the brushes into the relevant recesses.
Make sure the copper part of the brushes firmly
touches the copper part in the recess.
-
Retighten the screws (1).
SWITCHING ON/OFF (fig.7)
-
Depress knob (B) with your right-hand thumb
and keep it depressed.
-
Depress knob (A) to start the tool.
-
Release knob (A) to stop the tool.
