6 Recovery and transport of the machine

6.2 Loading the machine using a crane
The weight equals 9.5 t.
Use a crane with sufficient lifting load
capacity!
To load the excavator using a crane, the following
activities must be carried out:
•
Empty and fold in the bucket.
•
Position the work equipment straight ahead.
•
Turn the upper carriage to driving position (work
equipment is above the steering axle).
•
Lock the uppercarriage using the slewing lock
(50/21).
•
Raise the boom.
•
Retract intermediate boom cylinder (only TPA
and CI).
•
Retract the dipperstick.
•
Switch off the engine.
•
Leave the excavator and close the doors.
•
Attach the excavator to the 3-point lifting gear at
the points illustrated (fig. 49) in the correct
manner.
6.3 Transporting the machine
When transporting the machine on flat bed trailer
or by rail, etc. it must be lashed down according to
good practice at the marked points (fig. 51) and
secured with wedges; the support legs (and/or
dozer blade) and the working equipment must be
lowered to the ground.
Be aware of the total transport height.
Risk of accident when driving in
tunnels, under bridges, etc.!
