9. SLOWLY remove the hex screw from the
right side of the side brush housing.
NOTE: There is a large spring that is under
tension in the right side of the side brush
housing. This spring will partially un--wind
when the right hex screw and sleeve are
removed. If your machine is equipped with
dual side brushes----there is a tension spring
on both sides.
10. Position the new side brush housing in front
of the machine. If your machine has a RH
side brush only----place the sleeve in the
hole in the left arm of the housing. Bring that
end up and line up the hole in the sleeve
with the threaded insert in the main frame.
Install the hex screw----but leave loose for
now.
11. Go the right side arm of the housing and
position the tension spring in the opening
where the sleeve is inserted. Once the
spring is positioned correctly----place the
sleeve through the arm holes and the center
of the tension spring. Bring that end up
carefully, making sure the spring is pulled
back and one end placed down the main
machine frame. Line up the hole in the
sleeve with the threaded insert in the main
frame. Install the hex screw, Tighten both
screws to 28 -- 36 Nm (20 -- 26 ft lb).
NOTE:Repeat this procedure on the left side if
your machine is equipped with dual side brushes.
12. Reinstall the side brush lift cable bracket on
the side brush housing. Tighten the two
screws to 7.6 -- 9.9 Nm (6 -- 8 ft lb).
NOTE: Push the housing down to install the
hardware. Lift up on the front of the housing and
push the side brush bracket toward the rear of the
machine. Tighten the hardware.
