Fill in the appropriate fields depending on the method of communication with the unit.
A Unit ID is not required although it is recommended. If a Unit ID isn't entered the Unit
ID will be assigned by the M&C.
To add a unit connected to a serial port, enter a COM Port, Baud Rate and Amplifier
Address. The default baud rate is 9600. If adding multiple units, each unit must share
the same Baud Rate. Each unit must be assigned its own unique Amplifier Address.
To add a unit connected via UDP (TCP/IP) you must supply either an IP Address or
Hostname. Specify the unit's unique address in the Amplifier Address box.
If connecting via SNMP, supply a unique IP Address for each unit, and enter the Com-
munity Read and Community Write passwords. The factory-default Community Read
password is
public
. The default Community Write string is
private
.
Choose a log file location by clicking the “Browse” button. The default is the “My Docu-
ments” folder. The log file name will be the Unit ID and the extension “.log” appended
to it (i.e. “Unit1.log”).
Click on the Create button to complete the process. If setting up a redundant system,
repeat this procedure for each SSPA unit in the system.
