variables. If needed, the values are included on the command line, separated by spaces.
For example, to change the instrument ID, the host computer would issue a command like
this:
"V MACHINE_ID=1234<CRLF>"
and the CPU should respond with:
"V DDD:HH:MM IIII MACHINE_ID = 1234 (0-9999)<CRLF>"
