For quick preparation of the support surface, the
generator is supplied with a drilling template
(fig.10).
On the mounting surface, vibration mount fasten-
ing holes should be drilled (fig.11 ref. 1), as well
as a hole for the exhaust pipe (fig.11 ref. 2), an
access hole for the engine oil drain plug (fig.11
ref. 3) and an opening for letting any hot air out of
the generator (fig.11 ref. 4).
Around this opening in the surface, to prevent the
generator from sucking the exhaust hot air back
in, a closed-cell heat-resistant foam rubber seal
should be provided, tall enough to create a
sealed duct between the bottom of the generator
and the surface (fig.11 ref. 5).
If hot air is recycled by the generator,
in addition to a system shutdown occurring
when the safety temperature threshold is
reached, irreparable damage may occur to the
internal combustion engine and the electronic
boards.
4.3 Connecting the external exhaust silencer
The generator is supplied with an external ex-
haust silencer kit consisting of the silencer, a
flexible steel pipe and accessories for generating
set connection and fixing.
As a first step the generator internal muffler
(fig.12 ref. 1) must be fixed to the supplied cou-
pling (fig.12 ref. 3) by interposing the seal (fig.12
ref. 2).
Insert at one end of the 2 m long flexible steel
pipe (fig.12 ref. 3) the U-shaped fixing clamp
(fig.13 ref. 3), insert the pipe on the previously in-
stalled exhaust coupling (fig.13 ref. 1) up to a
length of at least 3 cm, then tighten the U-shaped
clamp on to the coupling/pipe connecting section.
