Check the shape of the displayed
waveform to determine if the probe
needs adjusted. If the waveform has
a square leading edge and a
fl
at top
and bottom, the probe does not need
adjusted.
If the waveform leading edge is rounded
or has a spike, you need to adjust the
probe compensation.
8.
Use the probe adjustment tool to adjust
the probe to show a
fl
at top and bottom to
the waveform. Remove the adjustment
tool before looking at the waveform.
Repeat until waveform top and bottom
are
fl
at.
9.
Repeat this procedure from step 5 for
each probe connected to each channel.
You must also run this procedure if
you move a probe from one channel to
another.
Probes and ground leads tip
When taking a real measurement, use the
shortest possible ground lead and signal
path to minimize probe-induced ringing and
distortion on the measured signal.
