Select the
Logic
check box in the Insert Error area.

Click the
Insert
button to send a logic error. The YBT100 should
not show any errors. This step veri
fi
es that there are no loopbacks
already set up on the network.

Click the
Select Loopback
button to open the
DS3 FEAC &
Loopbacks
dialog box.
8.
Select the loop type that is appropriate for your testing. Click the
help button on the dialog box for information on the DS3 loopback
settings.
9.
Click the
Loop-Up
button to transmit the loop code and establish
a loop at the remote NIU. When the loop is established, the Loop
Up button label changes to
Active
. If a loop is not established, you
may have a network problem. Verify that you have selected the
correct YBT100 test parameters and loopback type.
10.
Click the
Restart
button. The Alarms and Events area displays the
NO ERRORS message if the looped network has no errors.
11.
On the Diagnostics tab, select one or more error types in the
Insert
Error
area. If you select
Logic
, make sure to also select a BERT
pattern.
12.
Click the
Insert
button. The Alarms and Events area replaces the
NO ERRORS message with a count of the error types that you
inserted.
13.
Select other BERT patterns and error types to test your network.
14.
When done with the loop testing, click the
Loop Down
button to
deactivate the remote loop.
15.
Click the
Insert
button to send a logic error. The YBT100 should
not show any errors. This step veri
fi
es that the network loop is
down (has been deactivated).
16.
Repeat steps 7 through 15 to perform loopback testing or send
FEAC codes on the DS3 network.
