Post Codes & Error Codes E-1
E POST CODES & ERROR CODES
When you power on your system, the Power On Self Test (POST) diagnostic routines
check to make sure your system is running properly. A number of check points are
covered during these tests. These POST codes are described in E.01.
Fatal errors, which halt the boot process, are communicated through a series of audible
beeps. If POST can initialize the system video display, it will display the error message.
Beep error codes are described in E.03.
E.01 POST CODES
POST codes can be displayed by installing a PC diagnostic POST card. This card
includes a small display, which indicates the POST code number of specific check-
points in the POST routines as they are passed.
