The various options in the POWER MANAGEMENT SETUP are described below.
POWER MANAGEMENT/APM
This option enables the power management and APM (Advanced Power Management)
features. Once this option is enabled, all the other options below can be changed.
INSTANT ON SUPPORT
When this option is enabled, the system can go to full power on mode when leaving a
power-conserving state.
HARD DISK TIME OUT (MINUTE)
This option enables a non-activity timeout, after which the hard disk is put into Standby
mode. Note that once the hard disk has entered Standby mode, the next hard disk
access will take a few extra seconds to occur. The settings are Disabled, 1 min., 2 min.,
3 min., 4 min., 5 min., 6 min., 7 min., 8 min., 9 min., 10 min., 11 min., 12 min., 13
min., 14 min. and 15 min.
VIDEO LOW POWER MODE
This option specifies the power management state applied to the video controller after
the specified period of inactivity has expired. The settings are Disabled, Blank, Standby
and Off.
SLEEP MODE TIME OUT
This option sets the timeout period to enter into Sleep Mode when inactivity is
detected. The settings are Disabled, 2 sec., 8 sec., 32 sec., 2 min., 8 min., 16 min., and
32 min.
SUSPEND MODE TIME OUT
This option sets the timeout period to enter into Suspend Mode from Sleep Mode. The
settings are Disabled, 2 sec., 8 sec., 32 sec., 2 min., 8 min., 16 min., and 32 min.
