Standard connections - Port 5:
External antenna connection
An 'SMA', open face sealed, jack socket is provided for the connection of an external cellular mobile telecommunications
network antenna. Attachment of an external antenna is detected automatically and Cello 4S switches to use that
antenna rather than that fitted internally.
The antenna used must cover the cellular telecom frequency bands provided by the particular Cello 4S and as required
by the customer / installer. Only an external antenna specifically approved by Technolog for use with Cello 4S, and
taking into account the intended application / site, should be connected. Contact Technolog for further information and
details of antennas that are already approved for use with Cello 4S.
Use of any un-approved external antenna could lead to a potentially dangerous situation and as such will invalidate all
applicable warranties.
RF exposure considerations
In order to keep exposure to the potentially dangerous radio frequencies ('RF') generated by the Cello 4S below
recommended levels then it, and an attached external antenna, must be located a certain minimum distance away from
users and / or bystanders. For further details refer to Technolog Declaration of Conformity ('D of C') document
2099DC9000 associated with the Cello 4S.
Note - for compliance with the approvals
already in place for the internal modem
module, no part of the external antenna is
to be located any nearer to the Cello 4S
than indicated below:
> 25mm
