Drill the hole for the pulley encode
r, indicated
by arrow 4, proceeding as described below:
•
Disassemble the pulley underneath the
weight stack arch that is to be replaced with
the cogged pulley supplied in the kit.
•
Drill the plate shown in Photo 5.2-18 on the
left (see photo) or right hand side, depending
on where the pulley was disassembled.
If the plate is drilled on the right hand
side, the situation will be a mirror image
of that shown in the figure.
•
Take the "teardrop" shape encoder plate
support included in the kit and place it on the
machine frame with the encoder facing
outward, then secure it in a horizontal
position using the pulley fixing screw and
mark its contours on the plate support.
•
Remove the encoder plate support and draw
a horizontal line that passes through the
centre of its clamping screw.
•
Next, draw a vertical line perpendicular to
the horizontal line, at a distance of 32 mm
from the centre of the hole for the pulley
fixing screw, and mark the point of
intersection.
•
Measure out a distance of 10 mm above and
10 mm below the intersection point, along
the vertical line drawn previously.
