Instrument Menu
Connect
In the
Instrument
menu, select
Connect
or on the toolbar click the
Connect
button or press
Shift + F5
.
This option allows the connection to an instrument. Before connecting the desired
instrument the communication port must be chosen. To do this select
Setup
Port…
from the
Setup menu
. For further information refer to the chapter Port
Setup on page 6-4 in this manual.
The desired instrument will be connected using the selected communication port.
A message in the
window area

Scanner Shell
software shows that the
connection is successful or unsuccessful:

In the
Instrument
menu, select
Measurement Control Panel…
and
the
Measurement control
dialog box appears.
In the
Measurement control
dialog box several groups, each containing
individual buttons, are shown that offer special operations for preparing and
scanning data. Measurement parameters and measurement options are defined.
The Start and Prescan buttons are not available in the Scanner Shell software.
