Set-up instructions
Procedures before the plantation
Before starting the plantation, make a general inspection on the equipment. Retighten
all bolts and nuts and check the condition of all pins and cotter pins, avoiding future damages.
Repeat this operation after the first day of work.
Check the correct inflation on both tires of the planter.
Also check if there is no strange object inside the hoppers, which may damage the
metering mechanisms.
Lubricate all grease fittings appropriately.
• Only fill up the planter on the work station.
• Do not transit with load excess over the planter.
NOTE
To obtain an amount of 50,000 plants per hectare in the cultivation, whose seeds
contain:
Germination index = 95%
Physical purity = 90
Slippage index = 1.03 (3%)
The following calculation should be made to know how many seeds should be
distributed in a hectare.
Seeds/ha in the plantation = 0.95 x 0.90 = 0.855
50,000 = 58,479.53 x 1.03 =
60,233.91
0.855
To know the amount of seeds per meter, per 10 meters and so on, calculate how many
linear meters of rows exist in a hectare, in the desired spacing.
Example: 10,000 = 11,695.90 linear meters, so: 60,233.91 = 5.1500
0.855 m 11,695.90
Approximately
5.15 seeds per meter.
Planning the plantation - Correct seed rate
• The tires must have the same design, same inflation and same adjustment
of springs over the wheelset arms.
• When the tractor wheels are skidding to the same side, activate the differential
axle block, because this skidding is not related to the tractor ballast.
