Set-up instructions
Preparing the tractor
Before starting operations, prepare the tractor and equipment appropriately.
• Check the general conditions of the tractor, especially the functioning of the hydraulic
system.
• The addition of water ballasts in the tires and a set of weights on the front part and
rear wheels of the tractor are the most used ways to increase the soil traction and give
greater stability to the tractor.
• The front and rear wheel gauges must be equal (considering the measure from the
center of the tires).
• Follow the tractor and equipment operation instructions to assure a great performance
of both.
For hitching, choose a place as flat as possible.
Drive the tractor slowly in reverse gear to the planter direction and be ready to brake.
When close enough, use the lever to control the cylinder position, leaving the left lower arm
in the same level of the hitch pin.
1) Hitch the left lower arm (A) and place a cotter pin.
2) Hitch the upper arm (third point) (B) and place a cotter pin.
3) Hitch the right lower arm (C), which features ascent and descent movements through
the arm adjuster. At this moment, the extension thread of the upper arm can be used to
approach or put away the equipment to facilitate the hitching.
For a perfect hitching, the rotary cutter must be centered related to the tractor, which
is done as follows:
• Align the third point (B) of the tractor with the equipment drawbar.
• Totally raise the planter.
• Check if the distances between the lower arms and tires are the same on both sides
(as in "D"), being both at the same level.
